A Little About Charlene
Charlene is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (#4412). She is also a member of the Canadian Psychological Association, the Psychologists Association of Alberta, and Association for Play Therapy.
She hold a Masters Degree from the University of Calgary in School and Applied Child Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts, Honours from the University of Victoria. She is trained in play therapy, theraplay techniques, psycho-educational assessment, child-parent relationships, expressive therapies, and motivational interviewing and has experience with cognitive-behaviour therapy. Charlene also has training and experience in helping parents and caregivers build stronger attachments with their children.
Charlene worked for over twelve years with Yukon Government in education and in health and social services before deciding to branch into private practice psychology. She draws on her considerable experience with children and high risk youth and with mental health issues to provide services to children, teens, and adults in the areas of assessment, anxiety, trauma, attachment, and complex behaviour.
A Little About Leona
Leona is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (#3314). She is also a member of the Canadian Psychological Association, the Psychologists Association of Alberta, and the Canadian Association for Child and Play Therapy.
Leona has a Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of Calgary, a diploma in Education from McGill University, and a Bachelor of Arts, Honours Degree in Psychology from the University of Saskatchewan/Bishops' University. She is currently completing her certification in play therapy. Leona is trained in assessment and intervention and uses an integrated approach in her work in the areas of attachment, trauma, anxiety, depression, and complex behaviour.
Leona has worked for 25 years at the Child Development Centre, and has a small private practice where she sees school age children and adults. She is part of the development of the Handle with Care program through the Hincks-Dellcrest Centre in Toronto, as well as a member of the steering committee for the Toronto Sick Children's Hospital Infant Mental Health Promotion.
Please note - Leona is not currently accepting new clients. She does co-facilitate the Child Parent Relationship Training Program.
